ladies and gentleman. I am Ilangaovan studying tenth standard. I have come here
to say a few words about our Tamil culture. Sangam literature shows that Tamils
were best in culture and civilization about two thousand years ago. Tamils who
have defined grammer for language have also defined grammer for life. Tamil
culture is rooted in the life styles of Tamils throughout India, Srilanka,
Malaysia, Singapore, England and Worldwide. Though our culture is very old,it
has been updates consistently. We should feel proud about our culture. Thank
you one and all.
மரியாதைக்குரியவர்களே.என் பெயர் இளங்கோவன்.நான் பத்தாம் வகுப்பு படிக்கிறேன்.
நான் தமிழ் பண்பாட்டைப் பற்றி சில வார்த்தைகளை கூற விளைகிறேன்.
இரண்டாயிரம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன் பண்பாட்டிலும்,நாகரிகத்திலும்
சிறந்து விளங்கியவர்கள் தமிழர்கள் என்று சங்க இலக்கியம் கூறுகிறது. மொழிக்கு இலக்கணம் வகுத்தவர்கள் வாழ்க்கைக்கும் இலக்கணம் வகுத்தனர்.
தமிழர்களின் பண்பாடு இந்தியா,ஸ்ரீலங்கா,ம்லேசியா,சிங்கப்பூர்,இங்கிலாந்து
மற்றும் உலகமெங்கும் உள்ள தமிழர்களின் வாழ்க்கைத் தரத்தில் வேரூன்றி உள்ளது.
நம் பண்பாடு பழமையானதாக இருந்தாலும் அது சீரான முறையில் மேம்படுத்தி
உள்ளது. நாம் நம் பண்பாட்டைப் பற்றி பெருமிதம் கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

Our nation spends a lot of electricity for lighting up our streets in the
night.

Who knows? In future our country may launch artificial moons to light our night
time sky!
Malar:
I have read some other countries are going to launch these types of
illumination satellites near future.
Devi:
Superb news! If we launch artificial moons,they can assist in disaster relief
by beaming light on areas that lost power!

Kalaignar Karunanidhi is known for his
contributions to Tamil literature. His contributions cover a wide range: poems,
letters, screenplays, novels, biographies, historical novels, stage-plays,
dialogues and movie songs. He has written Kuraloviam for Thirukural,
Tholkaappiya Poonga, Poombukar, as well as many poems, essays and books. Apart
from literature, Karunanidhi has also contributed to the Tamil language through
art and architecture. Like the Kuraloviyam, in which Kalaignar wrote about
Thirukkural, through the construction of Valluvar Kottam he gave an architectural
presence to Thiruvalluvar, in Chennai. At Kanyakumari, Karunanidhi constructed
a 133-foot-high statue of Thiruvalluvar
in honour of the scholar.

Among the five geographical divisions of
the Tamil country in Sangam literature, the Marutam region was the fit for
cultivation, as it had the most fertile lands.
The properity of a farmer depended on getting the necessary sunlight,seasonal
rains and the fertility of the soil.Among these elements of nature,sunlight was
considered indispensible by the ancient Tamils.

Once upon a time there were two beggars in
Rome. The first begger used to cry in the streets of the city,”He is helped whom
God helps”.The Second begger used to cry,” He is helped who the king helps”.
This was repeated by them everyday. The emperor of Rome heard it so often that
he decided to help the begger who popularized him in the streets of Rome. He
ordered a loaf of bread to be baked and filled with pieces of gold. When the
begger felt the heavy weight of the bread, he sold it to his friend as soon as
he met him. The latter carried it home. When he cut the loaf of bread he found
sparkling pieces of gold. Thanking God, he stopped begging from that day. But
the other continued to beg through the city. Puzzled by the beggar’s behaviour,
the Emperor summoned him to his presence and asked him,” What have you done
with the loaf of bread that I had sent you lately?” The man replied, “ I sold
it to my friend,because it was heavy and did not seem well baked “ Then the
Emperor said, “ Truly he whom God helps is helped indeed,” and turned the
beggar out his palace.

( பிச்சைக்காரர்கள் ) இருந்தார்கள்.அவர்கள் தினமும் ஒருவன் கடவுள் என்னை காப்பார் எனக் கூறிக்கொண்டே இருந்தான். இன்னொருவன் அரசன் தன்னை காப்பாற்றுவான் எனக் கூறிக்கொண்டே இருப்பான்.ரோம் நகர அரசர் தன் புகழை பரப்புகின்றவனுக்கு உதவலாம் என முடிவெடுத்தார்.
தங்க கட்டிகள் கொண்ட ரொட்டி தயாரித்து அதனை அந்த யாசகருக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.
அந்த யாசகர் அந்த ரொட்டியை தனது சக யாசகருக்கு விற்று விட்டார்.
வீட்டுக்கு சென்று அவர் அந்த ரொட்டியை வெட்டும் போது அதனுள் தங்க கட்டிக்
கண்டார். உடனே அவர்கடவுளுக்கு நன்றிக் கூறி விட்டு பிச்சை எடுப்பதை
நிறுத்திக் கொண்டார்.
